HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c728W
Mr. Clegg

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many road accidents involving tankers carrying dangerous substances have occurred in the area of Wyre District Council in each of the last five years.

Dr. Gilbert

There is no requirement to report such accidents where personal injury is not involved. However, I am informed by the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that two non-injury incidents in which tankers conveying corrosive substances overturned have been recorded in the area since 1st January 1972. In neither case was there any spillage of contents. A further minor collision, involving a tanker and a private vehicle occurred, but damage to the former was slight, and again no spillage or injury occurred.
