HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 cc745-6W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many contracts for new houses were given by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in each financial year since it was set up; and what was the total value of such contracts in each year and the number of houses involved.

Mr. Concannon

This matter is the direct responsibility of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. However, I understand that total annual expenditure on new building and the number of houses completed each year are as follows:

Financial year Expenditure on New Building £ million Houses completed by Public Authorities
1972–73 24.0 6,408
1973–74 26.0 5,748
1974–75 30.4 5,066
1975–76 57.7 5,053
