§ Mr. Roperasked the Secretary of State for Defence what provision he has made for the financial year 1977–78 for receipts from the Federal Republic of Germany under the offset arrangements; and if he will make a statement on the present state of the negotiations.
§ Mr. MasonI cannot reveal our negotiating position, but we are seeking a substantial contribution towards the costs of stationing forces in Germany. It is not, however, possible to say at this stage when our talks with the Federal German Government will be completed.
