§ Mr. Roperasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what financial provision he proposes to make for supporting the British Youth Council, the Great Britain/USSR Association, and Great Britain/East Europe Centre, in their projects with Eastern European countries in the context of the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe which took place in Helsinki in 1975.
§ Mr. TomlinsonIt is proposed to make up to the following amounts available in the current financial year to enable these bodies to carry out a programme of East-West co-operative activities in the context of the CSCE:
£ British Youth Council 6,000 Great Britain/USSR Association 5,000 Great Britain/East Europe Cenre 2,500 The grant to the British Youth Council takes into account its decision to disaffiliate from the World Assembly of Youth.
Parliament will be asked to approve the necessary Supplementary Estimate in due course. In the meantime, an advance will be sought, if necessary, from the Contingencies Fund.
