Mr. John Moore

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in theOfficial Report a table showing (a) the number of days lost through strikes in the British Transport Docks Board and (b) the number of days lost through absenteeism in the British Transport Docks Board for each year since 1964.

I am informed by the British Transport Docks Board that the total numbers of man-days lost to the board through industrial disputes in the years since 1970 are as follows:

1975 5,411

Information about man-days lost in the years 1964–69 is not readily available.
