HC Deb 02 August 1976 vol 916 c609W
Mr. John Page

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, if he will prepare a table making a comparison of social security benefits available to the self-employed and their families and those available to employed persons and their families.

Mr. Orme

On the availability of social security benefits paid out of the National Insurance Fund I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the right hon. Member for Devon, North (Mr. Thorpe) on 10th November 1975. Other social security benefits, such as the new non-contributory benefits, supplementary benefit, family income supplement, family allowances and child interim benefit are available to the self-employed and their families as they are to employed persons and their families.—[Vol. 899, c.551–3.]
