HC Deb 02 August 1976 vol 916 c543W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Employment to what extent his authorisation is required for expenditure on refurnishing of premises, meals, installation of wine cellars and other incidental expenses by Royal Commissions established by him.

Mr. Harold Walker

The only Royal Commission provided for in the Department of Employment Vote is the Royal Commission on the Distribution of Incomes and Wealth. The total provision, including a modest allowance for official entertainment, is agreed by my right hon. Friend before submission for parliamentary approval and is subject to the normal controls applying to public expenditure.

The provision of premises and furniture is a function of the Property Services Agency of the Department of Environment.
