§ Mr. Roderickasked the Secretary of State for Wales what further initiatives he has in mind to improve the care of the elderly.
§ Mr. John MorrisI have approved in principle the establishment of a research project under the auspices of the Welsh National School of Medicine. I am particularly anxious that we in Wales should set a standard in the care of our old people and the research project will look in detail at crucial aspects of the care of old people in their own homes and in hospitals and elsewhere. Work on planning the project is in hand and I hope to make a further announcement in the autumn.
