§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that 11,912 persons were remanded for psychiatric reports in 1975, he is satisfied that facilities in prisons are appropirate to the making of such assessments.
§ Mr. JohnWe are in general satisfied that the Prison Service can adequately meet the requirements of the courts although there must always be room for improvement, and there are obvious advantages for all concerned where arrangements can be made for reports to be provided during a remand on bail.
