§ Mr. Wattasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will closely monitor trends in the market demand for lean meat with a view to the eventual alteration of the current general standards of beef certification to allow premium payments to be made on leaner types of cattle.

Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to his Question on 16th March.—[Vol. 907, c. 802.] I am satisfied that the current standards of certification for beef premium ensure the production of beef in the qualities demanded by consumers.
