asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what recent representations he has received about the need for the Scottish Assembly to exercise trade and industry powers.

Since publication of the White Paper in November 1975 I have received representations from 103 organisations and from 105 members of the public. Of these, 12 organisations and 18 individuals advocate some devolution of trade and industry powers.
