HC Deb 14 April 1976 vol 909 c533W
21. Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the most recent total figure for part-time education in secondary schools; and how many of the total were in Strathclyde Region and Glasgow, respectively.

Mr. McElhone

Returns from education authorities indicate that on 1st March 1976 there were 14,102 secondary pupils on part-time education. Of these 14,028 were in Strathclyde, including 1,812 in Glasgow. This is a considerable improvement on January when comparable figures were 19,329 in all, 19,208 in Strathclyde, and 6,257 in Glasgow.
