HC Deb 14 April 1976 vol 909 c554W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what proportion of Scottish North Sea oil production currently estimated for 1980 and 1985 will be refined within Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and overseas, respectively, according to current predictions.

Mr. Benn

As the hon. Member is already aware, the United Kingdom Continental Shelf is not divided into sections. The Government's policy on refining was set out in my right hon. Friend's statement of 6th December 1974—[Vol. 882, c. 646–8.]—and the geographical areas for refining cannot be forecast.
