§ Miss Margaret JacksonMy Department does not collect this information. The numbers of candidates from grant-aided further education establishments taking GCE O-level examinations in 1973 and 1974 were 136,908 and 127,197 respectively. The figure for 1975 is not yet available.
§ Mr. Watkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if it is possible for a child to sit O-level examinations after he or she has left school; and if it is possible for a child 548W to sit CSE examinations after he or she has left schoool.

In the case of the CSE a child must be in full-time attendance at school unless aged not less than 17 years on 1st September of the calendar year in which the examinations are taken.
