§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether, in view of the Government's economy drive, he will take steps to reduce the payments made to members of Government committees and Royal Commissions who receive £21 per day on a part-time basis, in addition to travel costs, subsistence allowances in accordance with Civil Service rules and briefcases.
