§ Mr. RowlandsNo date has been fixed for a formal constitutional conference on independence for the Gilbert Islands. Informal talks about the introduction of internal self-government will be held with representatives of the Gilbert Islands this summer. The question of representation at an eventual independence conference will be fully examined at the appropriate stage.
