HL Deb 14 April 1976 vol 369 cc2249-50WA
The Earl of KIMBERLEY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the present position regarding the runway at Singapore Airport, which is at the moment unsuitable for Concorde; and what steps they are taking to remedy this defect.

Lord WINTER BOTTOM

We are in touch with the Singapore authorities concerning some further resurfacing that will need to be carried out when the runway is extended this summer so that it will be suitable for Concorde. I am confident that, when Concorde starts to operate to Singapore, the runway will be fully satisfactory.
