§ Mr. Macfarlaneasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the percentage increase in passenger air fares charged by British Airways between April 1974 and April 1976.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisOn the main domestic trunk routes the single tourist fare increased by 51 per cent. between these two dates. On international routes fare increases have in general been smaller than this, but the continually changing structure of international air fares, particularly with the introduction of new excursion and low-fare holiday categories, together with the wide variation in the timing and amount of fare increases on different routes, make it impossible to provide an average figure that would be reasonably representative.
