HC Deb 12 April 1976 vol 909 c365W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment in which sections of the Pennine Way it is possible for a walker to walk on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, respectively, during the summer, assuming he begins in the Greater Manchester area at Redditch or Denton and travels in both directions by public transport.

Mr. Denis Howell

The southern section of the Pennine Way is accessible from Reddish by rail and from Denton by bus and rail on any day of the week. Other sections are less accessible by public transport from the greater Manchester area.

For information about summer services in general and about services giving access to the Pennine Way at other points it would be necessary to consult the appropriate bus and rail timetables. Additional Peak Pathfinder bus services are to be run from the Manchester-Stockport area over the Snake Pass this summer.
