asked the Minister for Overseas Development what was the total expenditure on research in 1973–74 and 1974–75, showing separately (a) expenditure in the United Kingdom and expenditure abroad, (b) expenditure on food and nutrition research, (c) expenditure on agricultural research, (d) grants in respect of agricultural research to university departments in contrast to other bodies, and (e) grants in respect of food and nutrition research to United Kingdom university departments in contrast to other bodies in the United Kingdom.
