HC Deb 09 April 1976 vol 909 cc343-4W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) what is his policy on the desirability of a system of official registration for travel agents;

(2) if he intends to make Great Britain's approach to the registration of travel agents compatible with that in other EEC countries; and if he will make a statement;

(3) what discussions he plans with representatives of the travel trade in regard to the registration of travel agents.

Mr. Deakins

My right hon. Friend has no plans at present for such an official registration scheme. There is no standard practice within the Community.
