§ Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what reply his Department has given to Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council's letter of 5th March 1976, seeking an increased quota for lending to home purchasers.
§ Mr. FreesonThe application by Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council for an increased quota is one of some 40 or so being considered by my Department, and the council has been informed that the competing claims made for a share of the limited reserve are being carefully assessed. When this work has been completed in the course of the next 10 days I will provide the hon. Member with a copy of the official reply to the council's letter of 5th March.
