§ Mr. Mike Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in view of further consultations that are taking place in the city, he will delay any approval of the reorganisation of Catholic education in Newcastle-upon-Tyne under Section 13 of the Education Act 1944 of which notice was given on 9th February 1976.
§ Mr. MulleyThe statutory period for objections to the scheme expires on 9th April. However, it will be some time before I shall receive the comments of the promoters on the objections that have been made and be in a position to reach a decision on the proposals. I have not been informed that the promoters are considering further proposals to replace any of the original ones. If they make further proposals I will, of course, consider them carefully.
