HC Deb 05 April 1976 vol 909 c49W
Mr. Edge

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has yet been notified of the contents of the report of the United Nations Committee of Inquiry into the present political situation in East Timor; and if, in the light of this report, he can now make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's relations with Indonesia.

Mr. Ennals

The report under cover of a Note by the United Nations Secretary General was published on 12th March. The Security Council is likely to discuss these documents in the near future. Our prime concern, of which the Indonesian Government are fully aware, is that the people of East Timor should be enabled freely to decide their future.
