HC Deb 02 April 1976 vol 908 c592W
Mr. Peter Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many letters his Department has received during the last year on the subject of juvenile crime.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

A complete estimate cannot be given because reference to juvenile delinquency is made in a large number of letters received at the Home Office which deal also with other aspects of crime and the criminal justice system: to make a complete count would involve disproportionate effort. However, the Department has identified 45 letters, either from bodies or individuals, dealt with during the last year, which related to juvenile offending in the specific context of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969.
