§ Mr. JuddWhen an officer or rating of the RNR undertakes a period of training 60 per cent. of the gross amount of pay due is paid to him at the time as an advance. Any balance remaining after deduction of income tax and national insurance contributions is normally sent on within four or five weeks of the completion of the training period.
§ Mr. Viggersasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether Her Majesty's Government propose to make payments in lieu of interest to officers and other ranks of the Royal Naval Reserve when their pay has been abnormally delayed.
