§ Mr. Thorneasked the Minister for Overseas Development whether the reduction of £20 million in Great Britain's overseas aid programme has or will take the form of (i) reductions in aid to international relief agencies, (ii) reductions in "gifts" overseas, (iii) reduction in aid to poorer countries on some basis of 287W "equal" shares and (iv) reduction in loans to poorer countries or other unspecified reductions.
§ Mr. PrenticeThe reduction of £20 million—in 1974 prices—is being distributed equally over the two years 1975–76 and 1976–77. It was applied before the detailed aid allocations for those years were made and I cannot therefore say which allocations might have been affected. There have however been no reductions in existing programmes or commitments.
