§ Mr. Ronald Brownasked the Secretary of State for Trade what steps he proposes to take to control the import of furniture from East Germany, Hungary, Poland and Indonesia at prices that undermine the fair wages and working conditions of the furniture workers in Great Britain.
§ Mr. DeakinsImports from these sources represent only a small proportion of our total imports of furniture. However, I am always prepared to consider applications for action under the Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act 1969 where there is prima facie evidence that injury is being caused by dumped or subsidised imports.
