§ Miss Fookesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement about the Russian trawler escorted into Plymouth by the Royal Navy on 16th October 1975.
§ Mr. BishopA Russian trawler was stopped on 16th October by HMS "Shavington" while steaming inside the 12 mile limit with her gear not fully stowed, and was escorted into Plymouth. After investigation, the officers of my Department were satisfied that she was on ordinary passage and had not fished within the fishery limit. The skipper was given a warning about the regulations on gear stowage, and was then allowed to proceed.
