§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will use his good offices to persuade the Israeli Government to sign and ratify the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty so as to make possible the creation of a nuclear free zone in the Middle East.
§ Mr. EnnalsA resolution sponsored by Iran and Egypt commending the idea of a nuclear weapon free zone in the Middle East and calling upon all the parties concerned in the area to accede to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty was134W adopted by the United Nations last year. We voted for that resolution and we continue to encourage the widest possible adherence to the treaty.
