Mr. David Price

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what have been the absolute and the percentage increases in the revenue and expenditure of the Consolidated Fund for the first six months of 1975–76 compared with the first six months of 1974–75; and if he will make a statement.

As published in theLondon Gazette on 7th October 1975, Consolidated Fund revenue in the first six months of 1975–76 was £3,155 million greater than in the corresponding period of 1974–75, an increase of 31 per cent. The corresponding figures for Consolidated Fund expenditure were £5,375 million and 47 per cent. respectively. The transactions covered in these returns comprise only a limited part of the transactions in the public sector.
