§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science in how many cases the Secretary of State has exercised his powers to make a determination in relation to school attendance orders in the last three years (a) as to the making or revocation of an order and (b) as to the school to be named in the order; and in how many cases he has required a school to be prescribed different from that selected by the parents.
§ Miss Joan LestorMy right hon. Friend has no power to make or revoke a school attendance order. He has power to determine, on the application of a local education authority, the school to be named in a school attendance order which the authority proposes to serve. No central record is kept of such applications.
