HC Deb 15 October 1975 vol 897 cc717-8W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many redundancy payments were made each year under the Redundancy Payments Act 1965 to employees in Scotland since the Act came into operation.

Mr. John Fraser

I regret that the information requested is not available.

Mrs. Ann Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many persons received redundancy payments during each year since 1966; what percentage these numbers were of the total made redundant in each of these years, how much was spent on redundancy payments in each year; and what was the average payment per worker made redundant in each year.

Mr. John Fraser

The following information relates to employees in respect of whom payments, including rebates to employers and guarantee payments, were made from the Redundancy Fund during the periods shown. It is not possible to give figures as a percentage of the total of those made redundant as this total is not known.
