§ Mr. FreesonI made it clear in answer to supplementary Questions arising out of the Question by the hon. Member for Braintree (Mr. Newton) on 2nd July that there was no possibility of making public funds available for this purpose. While we are still examining possible ways of helping mortgagors paying exceptionally high interest rates, any solution must be subject to this overriding constraint.
