§ Mr. Roy JenkinsThe Director of Public Prosecutions is considering a report which has been submitted to him by the police concerning their investigations into the alleged assaults. There is, in the circumstances, no action which I could properly take at this stage especially as the prison medical officer is subject to Civil Service rules which provide for suspension from duty only where legal or disciplinary proceedings have been started.
