HC Deb 13 October 1975 vol 897 c588W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of the major premium bond prizes has been won by residents in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, over the most recent annual period for which figures are available.

Mr. Denzil Davies

In the period July 1975, 76 major premium savings bond prizes were drawn in the range £75,000 to £25,000; 68 (89.5 per cent.) went to winners resident in England, 5 (6.6 per cent.) in Scotland and 3 (3.9 per cent.) in Wales.

These percentages are broadly comparable with the number of bonds sold in these countries.
