HC Deb 27 November 1975 vol 901 cc264-5W
Mr. Steen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what key issues the Liverpool Inner Area Study is concentrating on; and when the final phase of its work will be completed.

Mr. Freeson

The key issues are set out in the consultants' third study review, published by the Department. In brief, they are the employment structure of the area, the housing needs of its residents, the environment, and the relationship between them. In addition, a central concern of the study is the function of inner areas and the proper role of Government.

The work of the study, like that of the other two inner area studies, in Birmingham and Lambeth, is due to be completed next year.
