Friend the Secretary of State to inform himself fully about the nature and merit of the objections to the proposed Airedale trunk road. There are no formal rules for such inquiries and the inspector has discretion over the procedure. In his opening statement at the inquiry, the inspector explained the procedure which he would follow.
