asked the Secretary of State for Energy, pursuant to the statement in the Queen's Speech, during which month he proposes to issue new licences for exploration and development of offshore oil and gas.

Mr. John Smith

As my right hon Friend has announced, he proposes to invite applications in 1976. He hopes to award licences in the latter months of the year.
