§ Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether those members of the staff of the devolution unit who have been transferred or seconded from other departments of the Civil Service have been replaced in their previous positions by further internal appointments or whether there has been a net addition to the Civil Service as a whole as a result of the formation of the unit.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThere are 32 staff in the Cabinet Office Constitution Unit. Twenty-two of the staff were transferred or seconded from other Departments, five were transferred from within the Cabinet Office, and five were directly recruited. All but six of the staff transferred or seconded have been or are being replaced in their previous positions, so that there is a net addition to the Civil Service of 26.
