§ 26. Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will outline the strategic significance of the Royal Yacht "Britannia."
§ Mr. JuddI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave him on 4th February.—[Vol. 885, c.472]—When not on Royal duty the Royal Yacht is available for naval duties, including national and treaty exercises and sea day demonstrations. Routine hydro-graphic tasks are also undertaken during 113W voyages on Royal duty. HMY "Britannia" also has a rôle as a hospital ship should the need arise.
