§ Mr. JuddFive RN officers are presently serving on the complements of Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships in connection with the operation of naval helicopters. When RFAs are in company with Her Majesty's ships, an informal exchange of officers takes place as the opportunity arises.
§ 29. Mr. Edwin Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a statement on the future career prospects for officers in Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships following the defence review.
§ Mr. JuddI am convinced that service in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary will continue to offer its sea-going staff an attractive and rewarding future. Reassurances to this effect have recently been given to the personnel concerned.
