Mr. Sillars

asked the Lord President of the Council what is the total cost of sending and supporting the British delegation to the Council of Europe.

Mr. Edward Short

The total cost of the United Kingdom delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Assembly of Western European Union and the North Atlantic Assembly which will be borne on the Votes of the House of Lords and House of Commons in the year 1975–76 is estimated at £110,000. A breakdown of this figure to show the costs incurred for representation at each of the three Assemblies is not readily available.
