Mr. WilliamHamilton asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will publish in the Official Report details of all inquiries into the activities of secondary banks and other business undertakings in the course of the last two years; how many of the completed reports are already in his possession; and when they will be published.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisI assume that the hon. Member is referring to investigations under the Companies Act 1948, and I give below details of appointments of inspectors in respect of public companies since 1st November 1973. I do not announce inquiries into private companies, unless there are good reasons of general public interest for doing so.
The inspectors' report on London and County Securities Group Ltd. was submitted in March 1975 and is under consideration. An interim report on Court Line Ltd. was submitted and published in July 1975. An interim report on Land & General Developments Ltd. was submitted in February 1975, and a final report is awaited.
