Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what was the capital expenditure on bilingual schools in Wales in each of the last 10 years; and what is the estimate for 1976.

The value of building work approved each year in respect of major projects at designated bilingual schools for the period 1965–66 to 1974–75 was as follows:

It is expected that a major project costing about £700,000 will be submitted for approval this year. Information in respect of 1976–77 is not yet available.
