§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made in the fitting of sound insulation to dwellings along Newham Way (A13); and if he is satisfied with the speed of implementation of the agreed scheme.
§ Mr. Carmichael244 offers of insulation have been made and the first tenders were invited on 6th November, with further tender invitations going out at fortnightly intervals.
Work on the high-rise flats will start early in 1976, and it is confidently expected that the scheme will be completed in that year.
In view of the difficult nature of the work on this particular scheme, I am satisfied with the progress being made.
