HC Deb 12 November 1975 vol 899 cc809-11W
Mr. Ridley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the

alone schemes at various stages of development for the provision of more than 2,500 beds in private hospitals and nursing homes: about a half of these are in London and the Home Counties. These schemes include a proposal for a 500-bed hospital outside London and a 300-bed hospital in London, together with several other individual projects involving more than 100 beds.

The list below contains details of these schemes which have been reported in the Press and in respect of which the Department have received inquiries directly from developers about the prospect of their obtaining a licence under the Government's proposals for controlling the private sector. The list is not a comprehensive one and omits any information on developments supplied to my Department in confidence.

Following is the list:

total cost of the National Health Service in 1954–55 and in 1974–75, respectively; and what was the yield of all charges made for spectacles, prescriptions and dental treatment, etc., where appropriate, in each year.

Dr. Owen

I am sending the information to the hon. Member.
