asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the total number of places at special schools for the educationally sub-normal; and if he will express those numbers per 10,000 pupils in Wales and in each local authority.

Information about the total number of places is not available, but as at January 1975 the total number of pupils in special schools for the educationally sub-normal in Wales was 3,769. The number per 10,000 pupils in maintained schools in Wales and in each local education authority were:
