HC Deb 12 November 1975 vol 899 c854W
Mr. Grocott

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions the Government have had with Great Britain's allies on the question of refugee relief aid for Cyprus.

Mr. James Callaghan

In accordance with the undertaking I gave the House on 29th October, I raised this subject at the Ministerial Meeting of the Nine on 30th October. As a result the question of relief aid for Cyprus will be discussed shortly by the EEC Committee of Permanent Representatives in Brussels. We are also in touch with the United States. The House will be aware that Her Majesty's Government have spent well over £2 million on relief aid for Cyprus since July of last year.
