§ Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Prime Minister whether, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Melton on 15th July, he is now in a position to transfer licensing responsibility for the importation of live crocodiles and other exotic wild creatures from the Department of Trade to the Department of the Environment.
§ The Prime MinisterWe intend to implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora on 1st January 1976, and this licensing responsibility will be transferred to the Department of the Environment at the same time.
